CLASS DESCRIPTION

Do your hands get tired after 5 minutes of shoulder rubbing? Join us for a short workshop to learn correct body mechanics and hand techniques for an effective and feel-good massage. You can choose between oil on skin vs. over the clothes. Also choose between on a massage table vs. on a mat to replicate options you have at home.
 

Come solo, bring a friend,... or 5! You'll get verbal instructions, demonstrations, and guided hands-on practice with a partner or two. 

Accessibility:  Accessibility: Bayan Roots is on the ground level with no stairs inside or outside. The bathroom however, is not ADA compliant. We are a low scent environment, so please do not wear any chemical fragrances.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

 

Rose has been teaching massage therapy professionals in the Bay Area since 2008.  One of their favorite things is to get people excited about massage, so they absolutely love working with beginners. Learn the basics in a fun, safe, and interactive class.

WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Many people share the same daily movement patterns (or lack thereof): sitting while commuting to and from a workplace where sitting is also the main posture.  On breaks and after work, we are also hunched over our devices.  We do this for upwards of 12 hours a day sometimes!  Join Autumn Ross and Rose

Foronda for a short workshop on strategies to reduce the harmful effects of our sedentary patterns.  Rose will share self-massage and partner massage techniques specifically beneficial to folks who sit for long periods of time.  Autumn will share helpful stretches and movement we can do at home or at work to mitigate the aches and pains we develop over time.
